My apologies for being MIA. There's a lot going on all at once on the home front, and I've had to juggle my work schedule a little bit to make sure all other bases are covered. Tomorrow is the last day of school for all three children so I will be posting lots of fun photos from our jaunts around the city and its environs. If you are looking for some great ideas on what to do with your children during the summer months in the DC metro area, please consider joining Our Kids -- it is a great resource on the hip happenings around town for kids.

Speaking of Our Kids...congratulations to Kim T. on winning the iPhonography class! I look forward to meeting you in person and sharing my tips and tricks with you! For those of you who are interested in joining us, please feel free to email me with your "ideal" dates/times. Since the summer months are so unpredictable (last minute trips to the beach or visits to grandma's), it will help me get a better sense of what would be the best dates/times to hold iPhonography classes. Also, it might be a welcomed 2-hr respite  for moms and dads from the busy summer schedules ;-)

As I mentioned not long ago, one of our beloved beagles might have a terminal illness. It turns out she does have a form of rare T-cell lymphoma on one of her lymph nodes. The good news is, it is slow-growing and treatable. Other than that, she is acting completely normally, happy and as obstinate as ever. So the old girl has started on a 20-wk chemotherapy protocol and possibly radiation, and hopefully she will be with us for at least another couple of years. Fingers and paws crossed.

Here are my children testing out a new dog bed (it's more like a throne, by the size of it) at the pet supply shop:
